Latter-day Saint Value-based Scouting
Troop 501 was formed by Scouters, for Scouters, when The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints exited the Scouting program in 2019. Many of the leaders and boys are members of the Church, but we are respecters of all faiths and encourage those of other faiths to join Troop 501.
Our belief
We believe Scouting provides youth with a sense that they are important as individuals. We communicate to the boys that those in the Scouting family care about what happens to them.
Perhaps most importantly, we believe Scouting promotes activities that lead to personal responsibility and high self-esteem. As a result, when hard decisions have to be made, peer pressure can be resisted and the right choices can be made.
Our Location
We are located in Liberty, Missouri. We have Scouters all over the Kansas City Northland area who participate in Troop 501. Our Troop meetings are typically held in Liberty, Missouri each Thursday starting at 7 pm.
